The Knowledge Innovation Market Barcelona Foundation (Kimbcn) and Funditec funditec.org organizes the International Day for Accessible Tourism on Monday 13th of February from 4 pm to 6 pm at  CaixaForum, Social and Cultural Center of the la Caixa” Foundation.

The event is a forum of discussion for institutions, foundations, companies and experts related to tourism and accessibility experts in the field to assess the challenges and progress in barrier-free tourism for people with mobility difficulties or physical disabilities.

 

The event will end with a networking coffee .

The “International Day for Accessible Tourism” is part of the TuristAbile project, an initiative promoted by the Region of Sardinia and the Ministry of Labour of Italy and funded by the European Union. The project is aimed to start a voluntary system of certification adapted to test the level of accessibility of the tourist structures and to promote the labor insertion of population with special needs.

Three experts on mobility in Barcelona will also join the meeting: the Barcelona City Council,Transports Metropolitans de Barcelona (TMB), the company responsible of the management of the city’s public transport, and the architect Enrique Rovira-Beleta, author of The Accessible Guide of Barcelona.
